MySQL-Front 5.0 is the successor of the previous freeware versions of this program.
The programs has a complete set of all tools and features you would ever need to control a remotely hosted or even locally hosted mysql server.

Compatibility:-
- This program is compatible with MYSQL version 3.23 or higher.
- Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 SP5 or later.
- Web server with PHP 4.1.0 required only if you will be using tunneling.

Some of the features:-
- Multi-Lingual (more than 30 languages available).
- UNICODE support.
- SQL Syntax highlighting.
- Import from Microsoft Access databases , Microsoft Excel sheets , CSV files and .SQL files as well.
- Complete database administration features includes ( Insert , Delete , Search , Filter , Update , List , Create a new database/table , Drop an existing database/table , Arrange records ,...).

-This software can run for 30 days without limitations After that you will have to purchase a license or the program will not let you to :-
1- execute SQL commands from the SQL editior.
2- insert a new record in the Data Browser
3- Modify any data using the Object Browser

I had some issues with MySQL-Front 6.0.

- .SQL exported data is not 100% compatible with phpMyAdmin. MySQL-Front exports ## comments, while hpMyAdmin expects -- comments,
so you will get warnings, when trying to import MySQL-Front exported data into phpMyAdmin.

- When exporting to .SQL format, latin characters (accented i,e,o,u) in my database were converted to question marks ?.
This shouldn't happen. I think this is a bug.

Pros: Easy to use.
Cons: Not a offline Database editor. You can't import .sql file, edit the database, and then export .sql file, in an offline mode.

Sam, mysql isn't a "offline" database. you could download the MySQL independent ZIP archive and use it as the database or a portable all-in-one version like xamp or wamp.

I use Nils (R.I.P. mny friend) mysql-front for about 15 years and still love it!
